How can I know that your fish is really from Iceland?
If you take a look at the label on the product, you will see on the right-hand side of the label “LOT NO.” The first 3 numbers are the government registration number of the processing facility. Then we have the date of processing and by those pieces of information we can look up where our fish came from.

Is your fish wild-caught or farm-raised?
Our Atlantic Cod has been fished in the North Atlantic Ocean by Icelandic fishermen. It is completely wild and because of a rebuilt of the strain of the Atlantic Cod in Iceland, limited harvesting is allowed as a part of the sustainable fishery.
Our Atlantic salmon is farmed in the pure waters in Iceland and we make sure that there are no additives given to it. So, there are no growth hormones or antibiotics and no genetic modifications. It is 100% traceable and a part of responsible land-based farming.
Our Atlantic Salmon is sustainable land-based farmed so it doesn´t interfere with the wild stock of Atlantic Salmon. Everything is closely monitored to ensure optimal living conditions of the fish and the Salmon is fed high-quality feed from an Icelandic company. Farmed Salmon can be up to three times higher in fat than wild Salmon. Almost all Atlantic Salmon on the market is farmed because there is a very small quantity of wild Atlantic Salmon fished in the rivers in Iceland by sports fishermen and who usually consume what they catch.
Why is your fish shipped frozen instead of fresh?
Because fish is only fresh for a short period of time. After a few days from catching the fish is not fresh anymore. Our fish is processed day after catching and then we flash freeze the fish (using a special freezer that freezes the fish in minutes) it is still very fresh. By doing this we can keep our products perfectly fresh for a long period of time. So you can just take the amount of fish you need from the freezer, thaw it and cook it however you like and it will taste just as delicious as it did when it came out of the water. With our product you can be sure that we use no additives, there is no water glaze and it has only been frozen once. That is how we keep our product fresh in high quality from Iceland to your door.
